The State of Georgia uses the NASCLA Accredited Contractor Exam to test for its highest license classification of Georgia Building Construction.  You can read more about the NASCLA Exam and procedures on the NASCLA tab.

In addition to passing this exam, you must meet all other application requirements issued by the State Licensing Board.  In Georgia, this currently includes;

  • Minimum financial net worth (see below)
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Degree and/or experience requirements;
  • Passing score on the separate Georgia Business Law exam

Only the general contractor license requires a minimum net worth.  As outlined in Board Rules, a general contractor must have a minimum net worth of $150,000.  If applying as a qualifying agent, the net worth must be in the business name.
